1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Wrise, LLC, which operates Else (“Else,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles personal information when you visit our websites, create an account, use our applications and AI agents, connect third-party apps, communicate with us, or otherwise use our services (the “Services”). Wrise, LLC is the controller of the personal information covered by this policy unless we tell you otherwise.
This policy does not cover third-party websites, AI providers, or connected apps when they process information for their own purposes. Their policies apply to their services.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, profile image, authentication details, and account preferences.
- Content: prompts, conversations, instructions, uploaded files, assistant configurations, task plans, feedback, and generated results.
- Payment information: transaction, balance, receipt, and billing details. Our payment processor handles full payment card details; we generally receive a token and limited card information such as brand and last four digits.
- Communications: messages and attachments you send to support, feedback, survey responses, and other correspondence.
Information from connected apps
If you connect Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, Notion, GitHub, or another service, we receive the account label, authorization scopes, access credentials, and content needed to carry out your request. The exact data depends on the app, the permissions you enable, and the action you ask Else to perform. We do not access a connected app beyond those permissions and instructions.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and metering data: features used, models selected, task status, timestamps, token and compute usage, browsing activity, costs, receipts, errors, and performance data.
- Device and network data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, language, referring page, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Security data: login events, session identifiers, suspected abuse signals, and records used to prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
Information from others
We may receive information from identity providers when you sign in, payment processors, people who share an Else result with you, and public web sources that Else accesses at your direction.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and secure your account, authenticate you, and maintain sessions;
- understand your instructions and provide answers, files, research, and multi-step task execution;
- send relevant context to the AI model, search, browser, code execution, storage, and connected-app services needed for your task;
- save conversations, assistants, schedules, files, preferences, and task history so you can return to them;
- meter resource use, show itemized receipts, process payments, maintain balances, and prevent billing fraud;
- provide support and send service messages, authentication codes, security alerts, and task notifications you request;
- debug, monitor reliability, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms, and protect users and systems;
- comply with law, respond to valid legal process, and establish or defend legal claims;
- improve our Services when you have opted in or when we use aggregated or de-identified operational data.
Where law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you, for our legitimate interests in providing a safe and reliable service, with your consent, and to meet legal obligations.
4. AI processing and product improvement
To respond to a prompt or complete a task, Else sends the relevant parts of your Input — and sometimes prior conversation context, connected-app data, or retrieved web content — to the model and tools selected for that task. We limit this to what is reasonably needed to provide the feature.
Off by default. We do not use your tasks, prompts, files, or outputs to train or improve AI systems or our product unless you turn on “Help improve the product using my tasks” or otherwise give us permission.
If you opt in, authorized personnel and service providers may review or process selected content to evaluate quality, improve features, and develop safety measures. You can turn the setting off at any time; that stops future selection but does not require us to undo improvement work already completed using content previously selected under your permission.
We may use aggregated or de-identified measurements — such as task success rates, latency, error rates, and resource usage — to operate and improve the Services where those measurements do not reasonably identify you.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here:
- account records remain while your account is active and for a limited period afterward;
- conversations, tasks, assistants, schedules, uploads, and outputs remain until you delete them or your account, subject to backup and security retention;
- connected-app credentials remain until you disconnect the app, they expire, or the connection is revoked;
- billing records, receipts, and fraud-prevention records may be retained longer to meet tax, accounting, dispute, and legal obligations;
- temporary authentication and authorization records expire after a short operational period.
Deletion from live systems may not immediately remove information from encrypted backups. We isolate backup data from ordinary use and delete it on our normal rotation schedule. We may retain information longer when required by law, needed to resolve a dispute, or necessary to protect the Services.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, tenant-scoped storage, secure session handling, and restricted treatment of app credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
You can help by using a secure account, reviewing connected-app permissions, keeping credentials private, and telling us promptly about suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your controls
- Training and improvement: change “Help improve the product using my tasks” in Settings. It is off by default.
- Export: download your assistants, tasks, and settings from Settings. Contact us if you need a broader access export.
- Delete: delete conversations, tasks, assistants, files, and share links using available product controls, or ask us to delete your account.
- Connected apps: change enabled permissions or disconnect an app. You can also revoke access directly with the app provider.
- Notifications: change task email preferences in Settings. We may still send essential account and security messages.
- Share links: only share links with people you trust and revoke them when no longer needed. Revoking a link stops future access through our Services, but it cannot recall copies that were already made while the link was active.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of personal information; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; and appeal a decision we make about a request. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
To make a request, email hello@elsedoes.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority. Authorized agents may submit requests where local law permits. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Else does not currently use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
11. International data transfers
Else and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use recognized transfer safeguards, such as contractual protections, and take steps designed to protect information consistently with this policy.
12. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information to Else, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services and legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice through the Services or by email where appropriate.
